How can I copy and paste a translation from the dashboard translator to another app.??? I have tried to no avail. and would raher not have to write the translation (especially Japanese) and then type it out on the appropriate app.. HELP! And, yes, I am a bit of a "nimrod" when it comes to using my new computer. :/

It's possible that the Dashboard app doesn't provide that capability. You haven't told us if you can copy the information at all. If you cannot copy the information, then there is no direct solution for you. The indirect solution is to use an Internet translation page in your browser.
This also assumes that the other application accepts pasted information.
You did not say which translation app.
1. You could try a different app
2. You could use browser based google translate
3. You could contact author of the app in question or FAQ
Use google translate, it is usually better in any case.
