Question

How can I past my wireless keyboard if I can't get last the lock screen?!

Batteries went dead so I out freshies in...now what ! Can't type cuz the keyboard can't pair! Help please.

iMac (20-inch Mid 2007), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

It's always best to have a backup USB keyboard, go to the local office supply store and pick one up. Just a very inexpensive model will do the trick.

Thanks much! I realized after i posted that i should try turning the computer off, then on again, and that worked.

It brought up the pairing box since the keyboard was in pairing mode.

Appreciate the quick response and will pick up an inexpensive one as a backup....luckily i have a MBP as well, but the keyboard is still a great idea!
