"Unable to submit to queue"

Hello!

Just updated to Compressor 4.1 and Mavericks (10.9.1)--when I try to compress a QuickTime movie (.mov) to one of the Video Sharing Services formats (720p, 480p, H264 for Video Podcasting), I get the error message "Unable to submit to queue: Please restart your computer or verify your Compressor installation is correct."


IT was here for two hours trying all sorts of things, including reinstalling Compressor, removing files left from older version, etc. Nothing worked.


Any ideas?
