Secure Page with No Icon

Hi folks. Just went to purchase something and Safari (latest) didn't show any security whatsoever.

Didn't show the url with https, nor any lock icon anywhere. Upon copying the url into Firefox, it did indeed show this. Is this some kind of bug? It's not good that it diverted me into calling the store to avert a security situation.

Thanks

How Safari displays the security icons, if it displays the icons, will depend on exactly how a specific page has their secure connection set up. If you want to check to see if Safari on your machine is detecting secure connections, you can see if the icon displays on the Checkout page of the Apple Online Store(you have to add something to the cart and attempt to check out), which should display the green EV icon. You can also try a https version of a website that supports it, such as https://www.wikipedia.org, which should show the grey https icon.

Brenden, I'm a software developer. I've been designing eCommerce for some time. I know about security. Safari simply didn't display anything, whereas Firefox did just that with a copied URL.

I am posting to see if there is anything reported as being wrong with Safari, as no indication on any corner of the Safari window, displayed any sort of security.

Cheers
