I have a wired mouse and when i first got it it worked fine. Then one day the scroll up mouse wheel stopped working. I tried many ways on which to fix it and to no succes. I really need help and need an answer.

You didn't mention what mouse you have. They're not all the same, some wear out faster. I'm using a Kensington Optical Elite which is inexpensive, programmable, and reliable. You can get one on Amazon.

I long ago gave up on Apple rodents and have for 3 years used a cheap Logitech B110 mouse, also from Amazon. Cost less than £10 and has never needed a clean!

Yes! That trick worked on a mouse I just ordered! Guess it was a used one!
I rolled it upside down on a piece of paper and had to press hard and do it several times.
