Will a verizon iphone 5 work on AT&T's cellular and 3G networks

I'm having a hard time finding a direct answer on this forum.

I am interested in buying a Verizon iPhone 5 or 5c because I hear it is factory unlocked for GSM networks, both domestically and internationally. The reason I want this model (A1429) is because I will want to use CDMA and GSM internationally (Europe, Africa, and the Middle East).

The most important thing though for me is that it will work abroad and domestically. I see conflicting information online about this. I know the LTE data waves for TMobile or AT&T will not work on this phone. But, will 3G work? I'm happy enough w/ that speed.

Yes, a Verizon iPhone 5, 5c or 5s has a completley unlocked SIM slot for GSM use. However, as far as CDMA use goes, it will only ever connect to one single CDMA network, and that is Verizons USA native network. The CDMA connection settings cannot be altered.

So, unless you plan on actually using it on Verizon's CDMA network in the USA, it is pretty pointless to buy a Verizon iPhone. You would just as well get the Apple Store's unlocked phone, which is a GSM-only capable phone.
