How can I remove a song from my iPhone? it is removed from my music list under "device" in i-Tunes in my computer, but remains on my phone.

I am trying to clean up and reduce the songs in i-Tunes on my i-Phone. I connect the phone to my computer, go to i-Tunes, and display the music list (songs). I then click "delete" on the song i want to remove, and it disappears from the list. The problem is, it remains in the song list in my phone, and won't go away, no matter what I do. Help!

iPhone 4, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), i-tunes 11.1.3

I don't want to delete it from my iTunes library. I just want to delete it from my device. I removed it from the list for the device on my computer, and the computer is synced with my iPhone, but the song remains on the Phone.

I tried your suggestion of swiping my finger from right to left across the song. but there is no option for "delete". swiping my finger just starts the song playing. the only options i get is to shuffle it or play it again.

I'm having the same issue.

I just want to delete a few songs I'm tired of. I've swiped left to right, right to left. No "delete" option. And the annoying song starts all over AGAIN. Extremely frustrating.😢

When I connect the phone (iphone 5 with iOS 7.1) to Mac the songs don't even show up...thus I am likewise unable to delete them via computer. iPhone FAIL.

Have you tried deleting all the music from the device then resyncing what you want from iTunes?

From iPhone: Settins > General > Usage > Music > Edit > ➖ > Delete then connect to iTunes and sync

From iTunes: Connect your phone to iTunes, select it from devices, select the Music tab, uncheck Sync Music then sync. When it finishes, check Sync Music and sync.

Hi I am having the same issue. I have tried removing all songs via I tunes, but it doesn't remove this one. Also when I look via iTunes what music IS on my phone. It shows the remaining tracks for this album which are invisible on my phone. All I see on the phone is 1 track that will not display the delete option on swiping.

Delete all the music directly from the phone:

Settings > General > Usage > Music > Edit > > Delete then connect to iTunes and sync

I have no selections of music to sync, in i-Tunes. I originally dragged each song into my old i-pod, way back, (had the settings on "manual") and then, when i got my i-Phone (4) had the apple store transfer all songs from one to the other. and, when i've added more songs, i've either downloaded them directly from the web, or dragged them individially from the i-tunes library.
