The maximum is the size of the drive, 6mb is tiny.
How is your Flash drive formatted?
Hi Csound1
Thank you for a fast reply, sorry the flash driver is 64GB and what I want to transfer is 6.5GB is this possible and if not what is the maximum I can?
Ta
You can write files to an media up to the capacity of that media. So for 64GB, somewhat less than 64 GB of files will fit.
Since this seems pretty elementary, maybne you woudl explain a bit more. I may be missing something about your trouble.

Please answer my question regarding the drives format, it is a crucial part of finding out why this does not work for you.
For instance, if your drive is formatted as FAT32 there is a size limit of 4GB.
Insert the flash drive and open the Disk Utility app to format it for Mac OS use.
Many come formatted as FAT 32 which has a 4GB file size limit.
Hi Grant
When I drag a film to the 64GB flash it says “The Tim mp4 can't be copied because it is too large for the volumes format" I have reformatted the drive to MS-DOS (FAT-32). hope this helps?
Ta
He's trying to move 6MB not 6GB 6MB <<<< 4GB limit, FAT or otherwise.
That's your issue. You've used the wrong file format on the flash drive.
well, that suggests that the file is much larger than 6MB, or the drive smaller than the 64 (or 4 if FAT) you noted.
What again is the file size? Check in the finder.
What again is the recognized drive size?
You may want to use FAT32 if you want to share with PCs; or Mac format if just between macs. I always use FAT32 for compatability.
Grant
Read his second post where he corrects the file size.
Oh yes, sorry. I read the original post and never went back.
That's the problem!
Grant
Reformat the drive to EXFat, it will be erased by this process so if you have files stored on it, save them somewhere else.
Hi Csound1
Do you know if then a PC computer will be able to open it?
Ta
ex FAT is extended FAT = FAT32 an is a microsoft file format
Yes.
Thanks will get back to you later.
