Q: Photos Missing from iPhoto with Maverick Upgrade

I have recently upgraded to the Maverick OS and noticed that all my photos are now missing from iPhoto however I can see them under Preview when I use the Finder application. Also, when I open iPhoto it prompts me to enter personalized settings as if I am using it for the first time (ie: Face recognition, etc.) How can I get my photos back into iPhoto? I am worried I may lose them.

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Have you upgraded iPhoto after your Mavericks upgrade?

Be aware after updating iPhoto save your iPhoto Library before you open it in the new version of iPhoto Library. If you don't and you have other Macs running eariler versions of iPhoto, they won't be able to open the Library.

Hello and thanks for your reply...I am now running Maverick OS X 10.9.1 and iPhoto 9.5.1. But i am still not able to see my photos in iphoto library. Do I need to re import my photos?
