    1) Launch LE9 and create a software instrument track.

    2) Click on the I/O button that says EPiano on the left in the channel strip.

    3) Scroll down to AU Instruments>Garritan>Aria Player.

    Guitarist,

Thank you so much.  I would have never figured it out and you made it so simple.

Would it be possible to communicate with you in regard to ARIA sometime since I'm a newbie at this stuff?

    Thanks again.

Please feel free to post your questions here and I will be happy to respond.  Apple doesn't seem to offer a PM option.

Well, I have ARIA in LE9.  I imported a song from Sibelius7 into LE9 because I understand ARIA works better in a DAW than in a notation program.  I can open it in LE, but the instruments in the arrange area don't match up with the names on the left.  Names like PoP Kit, Pop Organ, Wurlitzer etc.  So, how do I get that song to be played in LE with ARIA?

    Thanks.

I'm sorry, Peter, but I have no experience with Sibelius.  However, generally speaking . . . it's not uncommon in situations like this to go into your plug-in (e.g. Aria) one channel at a time and re-assign your instruments.

Thanks for the link to the manual.  For some reason I didn't get that one when I purchased JABB.  This one is more thorough.  You mention re-assigning the instruments in LE9.  That's where I'm having the problem, not in Sibelius.

When I start re-assigning the instruments in LE a new ARIA opens every time, so if I have 16 instruments to re-assign, 16 different ARIA's open.  Is that the way it's supposed be?  I would think that all the re-assigned instruments would be in one ARIA.  I looked throught the contents of the manual and I didn't see anything that talks about what I'm describing.  I'll check it out further, but if you can be a little more specific about the re-assigning of the instruments in LE that would help a lot.

    Thanks again.

That is most definitely NOT the way Aria should work.  As a matter of fact, I'm not even sure how that could possibly occur.

I tried to upload some shots of a normally-functioning Aria Player, but it won't let me for some reason.  If you click on an instrument slot you will see your options in the drop-down menu.  In your case, you may prefer to select the Notation instruments.

If you continue adding different instruments they will load in their chosen slots and will all remain in the same Aria window.

Even if you should choose an Ensemble (top left) you will see all the chosen ensemble's instruments load in their assigned slots, all in one Aria Player window.

If you are unable to get Aria to function properly, the first thing I would do if I were you is reset it by going to your user>Library>Preferences and deleting com.Garritan.ARIA Player.plist and com.Garritan.ARIA PlayerSA.plist.  New .plist files will be created the next time you launch Aria Player.  If you're nervous about this you could always just drag them to your desktop and re-launch Aria Player . . . you can move them back if necessary.

Well, I'm just about at the end of my patience with this program.  I thought maybe there was a problem and I did what you suggested: User>Library>Preferences and deleted both of them.  I'm still have a lot of problems.

I was able to import a file from Sibelius and the results were horrendous in LE.  I've been on the internet and utube and have read and listened to many many video's and still have problems.  I just tried recording something in LE with ARIA and it did work, but every time I press the Space bar or hit stop in LE, the volume shuts off in ARIA.  I can see the Mod Wheel shut right down.  This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had.  I called Garritan and they refuse to help saying they are not familiar with Sibelius or Logic Express.  I'm through with this program.

I really appreciate your help.  I hope you're having a better experience with it.

    Thanks again.
