As Appleman pointed out. You cannot do that directly, However you don't even need MPEG streamclip (If that would scare you off).


All needed software is already available, just take the follwoing steps:


1. in iMovie: Mark your clip in the event browser.

2. Archive->show in finder

3. Open with QuickTime player (double click on the clip in the finder)

4. In Quicktime: Scroll/skim to the position you want to have the snapshot

5. Go to Edit-> Copy

6. Open Preview

7. Go to Archive-> Open from clipboard

8. There is your photo, with Preview you can do some edits, and resizing (look in the extra's) and save in different formats like JPEG, PNG, Tiff, PDF. etc.
