Why calendar events deleted after google calendar was synced to my phone?

Why calendar events deleted after google calendar was synced to my phone?

Why after adding my google account email to my phone did it sync my google calendar and then delete all the previous events I had on my calendar? How do I get them back??

iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.2

Did they actually get deleted or are they simply not showing?

Open the Calendar app.

Select Calendars at the bottom

What calendars are selected to display?

Ive tried selecting and deselecting all the calendars listed. They still dont show up! :-(
