No. MacKeeper is just a worthless piece of crapware. Everything it claims it will do can be done for free and with much greater safety.

The only thing it is good for is lining Zeobit's pockets with gold.

If you require anti-virus protection I recommend using VirusBarrier Express 1.1.6 or Dr.Web Light both from the App Store. They're both free, and since they're from the App Store, they won't destabilize the system. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for these recommendations.)

Mackeeper is certainly NOT LEGIT it is a useless piece of malware

nice to see you back. Thought you were gone for good.

I was advised by staff member at Apple retail store just this week that it is not only unnecessary, but could be a hinderance. I've deleted it!

I advise not use Mackeeper like everyone is saying. It claims to keep your Mac clean but it' a peace of malware.
