Thanks. To clarify for the sake of others with this problem, the button to toggle is "Alawys" NOT "Automatically based . . . " - the one shown in the image.
Automatically is the default in 10.9 (my preference).
Using El capitan.. How do you enable the right side bar in the menu pane?
I went to system prefs > Show Scroll bars > Always
this did not do it.. the bottom bar appeared, yet the right side bar has not ??
(right side bar does appear in text edit, MS word & web brouser.. yet not the menus.. ie. when clicking on HD, files, etc)
why has the right-hand scroll bar disappeared on my applications with the last osx upgrade?
