ipad had been reset and now on activation says it needs to be replaced. worked fine until now. please help urgent

Seems unlikely if it has worked well until now - Must be glitch in restore or update...

Did you restore the iPad to factory settings?

During activation, did you use the same Apple ID?

Are you using wifi or computer? IF computer, is it up to date?

Well I hit reset on iPad. When it started back up I entered my wifi password and it then came up on screen " REPLACEMENT NEEDED" i then pluged in iTunes and it stayed on screen can not activate. So I tried do a restore via iTunes. Same problem.

Did you manage to overrun this stuff? Having the same with iPad 2 after factory defaults reset. Apple support does not know anything about that.

It's a good idea to block devices after 2 years of usage - "come and spend more money on new iPad". Bad feeling.

Unfortunately not yet. I think I will need to pay apple to sort. Kills me to tho.

Just let me know here if you deal with this crappy stuff. I submitted an incident through regional Russian support to Apple HQ, we'll have to wait for a couple of days until they sort this out there. Anyway, I will inform you here about any progress from my side.

AlexZombie, Apple does. Not disable or block devices ever unless they are stolen and erased via iCloud.com.

I just called apple, and they said they had never heard of it as well. Then they suggested i go to the apple store and for them to possibly fix it, the estimate they gave me on the phone was $230!.....It was just working before I did a hard reset...Very frustrating!😠

Guys, really frustrating things happen.

I've got an answer from Apple - we are not aware of waht it is, just stick to nearest Appservice and exchange your stuff to new/refurbished one for 350 bucks. Apple does not give a crap for all this I guess.

SMH....this is unacceptable

I have the exact same problem, and even though the guy at the apple support was very kind, and tried to help, the final answer was also, that they had never heard of the problem or had a solution.... 😟

Any suggestions or updates on a solution would be greatly appriciated.
