I tried reseting my macbook and i followed all the steps to reset it and when it was time for me to log in with an apple id my computer said that you need an id that uses a purchase of mac lion.

Did you purchase Lion from the Mac App Store using your Apple ID? Did your machine come with installation discs?

No i dont think so because my dad had it and i wanted to reset it and i dont think it came with a installation disk.
You would have to have purchased Lion from the App Store with your Apple ID in order to reinstall Lion. Maybe it was purchased with your father's Apple ID? You really need the original discs that likely shipped with your unit - which model is it (e.g., "15-inch Late 2011)?
