ipod Model A1236 8gb is not detected on itunes

I havent used my ipod probably over a year. I charged it it and its working fine when charged in to mains supply charger

I tried to connect to my Computer and it not recognised. I cannot operate it either when its connected to pc it only has

apple sign on front but will not move. I uninstalled ITunes and reinstalled and still problem. I have used Apple ipod

diagnostics and also ITunes diagnostics to no avail. Anybody help.
