iCal icon in dock on iMac shows incorrect notification

iCal in dock show an outstanding notification Its been there for months - how do i get rid of it?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Grouville,

Use iCal>View>Show Notifications to choose what to do with the notification.
