macbook pro restarting all the time on maverick with 3rd party apps crashing.

Hi guys, I have updated to maverick recently and ever since then most of my 3rd party apps keep crashing and causing my system to restart. Most notably any torrent app I use, coming from mountain lion I never experienced anything of the sort. any ideas? Ive gone into apple and spoke to a a few of the techs there and they couldnt offer any insight besides the obvious that maverick may be buggy still with some 3rd party apps. Has anyone else experienced this also?

Im running a 13" macbook pro mid 2012 model, 2.9ghz, 8gb ram. and i always keep everything up to date as you can tell im not very computer savvy on the tech side of things any help would be great cheers.
