the 'on this iPhone' button's gone, how can I get it back?

I plugged my iPhone 4S into the computer, clicked on itunes but the 'on this iphone' button wasn't there anymore. how can I get it back? I already have tried many things such as just plugged in again, turning off my laptop .. but it still is gone. how can I get it back? help please!
