Opening Damaged/Corrupted JPEG files

I've recently had a bunch of JPEG pictured transferred from a damaged external drive, and when I try to open some of the with "Preview" it tells me that file can't be opened because it is damaged or in a file format that is not recognized. Is there a program out there that might be able to open these damaged files?

You'd want to ask in the Adobe Photoshop forum (http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop)

There are people there who've successfully repaired JPGs and can recommend software for it.
