Im running a mid 2011 Imac with mavricks. I set up my linux server today I log into my account and try to open up the folder. when I try to open the folder it comes up with a notice:
The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “tszar Server” can’t be found.

You'll need to be more spcific in what you are doing and on what computer.
When you say you log in to your account, on what computer? The Mac or the Linux box?
Have you actually setup File Sharing on both systems and do they See Each Other?
Are you using SMB or some other sharing protocol?
Im useing SMB, and What I mean is that when I go to finder can click the server I click connect as, then my account. The computer is the mac. not the linux.
According to reports, if the filing protocol is SMB, you can sometimes work around the problem by forcing a CIFS connection instead. To do that, first disconnect from the file server, then select
Go ▹ Connect to Server
cifs:// server-address
imac File sharing: the original file cannot be found.
