At the moment I have a new MP3 player which is not yet recognized by iTunes.
But I would like to copy some songs to it that I have recently bought on the iTunes store.
Does anyone know how I could convert the music from iTunes to MP3 ?

There is no non-Apple player that is recognized by iTunes. iTunes is only capable of syncing Apple devices. However, that does not mean that your player cannot handle AAC music files.
Before you start converting, check the formats it will handle.
Is it possible to convert music from the iTunes store to MP3 format ?
