Q: NVIDIA 9400M and new mac mini

I was given an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB graphics monitor and want to hook up a mac mini.  Is the current mac mini (2014) and/or the one planned for release in lat February compatible/advisable?

Hi, current Mac Mini is still 2012 model as you may know:) Also not certain about rest of your question. geForce 9400M is graphics card - device to which you attach monitor. If what you want to know is if you can or be able to (in upcoming model) install your own dedicated graphics card then sorry, this is unlikely (maybe through Thunderbolt as external device tho I am not certain if Apple allows that).

If you are asking if you can use your current monitor with new Mini then I'd say you can. Mac mini features HDMI port but also has Thunderbolt port which allows usage of devices dedicated for MiniDisplay port. I.e. you can buy adapter MiniDisplay->DVI and through your Thunderbolt port you can connect any DVI display you want to. Same gose for MiniDisplay->VGA adapters
