I updated ITunes to 11.1.4.62 - only songs that I purchased from ITunes will sync with my phone

I updated to ITunes 11.1.4.62. Only songs I have purchased from ITunes in my library will now sync with my Iphone5. Everyone song in my library that wasn't purchased from ITunes is now unable to play on my IPhone 5; I can see them in my IPhone library, but the font is faded (light grey tone) and a red circle with a small red square in the center of the circle is to the right of the song title. I click on the song and nothing happens. Assistance is appreciated

It sounds like the songs might be having issues downloading from iTunes in the Cloud. To troubleshoot, try the following:

Signing out of your account in Settings > iTunes & App Store. Once signed out, go ahead and restart your iPhone, then sign back in.
