Installing And Reinstalling

My itunes wont start if i delete it permanently will it delete everything including my backups if i try to reinstall it will it erase everything off my phone

Follow all the steps in here to uninstall and resinstall iTunes:


Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

To address the worry about missing purhcases, see the following information:

iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and aren't deleted by removing iTunes. While it's highly unlikely that you'll lose any contents of your iTunes Library when following these steps, it's always a good idea to ensure that your iTunes library is backed up. If you're unsure how to backup, follow these steps.


Also, when you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so are particularly important:

Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:

  1. iTunes
  2. Apple Software Update
  3. Apple Mobile Device Support
  4. Bonjour
  5. Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)


Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
