Q: IPhone 5s unlock

Hi,

 

Have bought a Vodafone locked IPhone as a gift. The recepient was supposed to port her work phone subscription to Vodafone, it seems it will be a while. Have the phone sitting on a shelf for 2 months now.

Vodafone charges an anm and a leg to unlock.

 

Q: Have seen many websites purpotedly selling "Official Apple ITunes, IMEI based permanent, non losing warranty unlock. Is it a scam?

Is there an Apple official unlock?

    ONLY the Carrier it is locked to can Unlock it.

    They are all claiming that no modification is made to the phone whatsoever.

    If these are scam sites, they are terribly consistent in their message and method.

    Are they just collecting IMEI codes, or what?

    They can claim whatever they want.. the Fact is that Only the carrier that it is locked to can unlock it.

     

    Anything else is a hack.
