hi... i have been having some real trouble with my iphone 4s and the wifi... its a nighmare, i had to go into an apple store last wednesday and managed to get a replacement, the wifi had crashed completely and i was unable to search for any devices as the option to turn the wifi on had turned grey... thankfully i had warrenty over the last iphone i had purchased and got the replacement for free... however today 5 days after i had travelled to get this new phone the same thing has happened. Im going back tomorrow to see what apple suggest im not happy at all... as a quick fix i looked on support groups and found that if you turn airoplane mode off... go down to general and then reset networks... the problem is resolved for a VERY short period of time. I have also read that putting the phone in a bag and in a freezer sometimes helps, however obviously because of the warranty still available on mine i dont want to risk doing this, however if yours isn't it maybe an idea to try it... fingers crossed for you and everyone else having this problem it seems to be a growing problem and hopefully apple will resolve it or come up with a valid response sooner rather than later to keep the loyal customers it has from moving away to better, cheeper products as it seems at this junction.

And, what about the millions of iPhone users that never have a complaint? Did you factor that in?

Extrapolating from your experience and a small, select few and applying it to the general public is a gross misrepresentation.

Care to take a guess at the percentage of smartphone hardware failures, by company? Apple has the lowest percentage of defective devies among all smartphone manufacturers. So, to make the claim that Apple is moving towards 'cheaper' products is also disingenuous.

I'm glad your device is working. But there's no basis for the claim that Apple is making 'cheaper' products.
