This is to activate iMessage/FaceTime. An SMS messaging plan is required, & you shouldn't be charged for these messages if using an iPhone with a supported carrier. To stop, turn off iMessage & FaceTime.

Hi wjosten,

I am residing in Saudi Arabia and using Mobily-KSA mobile network. Three days ago, I have updated my iphone 5s with IOS 7.0.5 through iTunes and same problem started like Eldemeiry. I have loose 20 Saudi Riyals in last 3 days. Hidden messages sent from my iphone every 1 hour and money deduct. Yesterday, I contacted with Apple support team and they told me to contact with Mobily (network provider) because iphone sends request for activation of imessage to the UK based mobile number but Mobily Server reject to receive that token which is usually sent from Apple Server. I called to Mobily call center and explain this whole situation but he told that Mobily can not stop / reject any token or sms which usually comes from abroad / international number, so mobily couldn't resolve this issue. After that I went to Local mobile shop and bought new sim card with another network provider "ZAIN". As I put that sim card into my iphone then immediately my imessage and face time both have activated. I again put the Mobily sim card and same problem started, my money started deducting and I am still stuck on iMessage / Face Time Activation.

I assume that Apple should resolve this issue with Mobily server.

Please help us to activate this service and stop loosing further money. If anybody have same issue then please share with us.

Thanks.

Hi Ramachi,

I have restored iphone 5s as factory setting and turned off imessage and face time, I signed out from my apple ID. Thanks God now no more deduction from Mobily.

Yesterday I purchased ZAIN sim card @ SAR35. As I insert it into my iphone then immediately imessage and facetime both were activated and start worked. I am sure Mobily has stopped this activation and charging too much to their customers who tried to activate imessage services for iphone.

At the end, I am sure that this problem is from our carrier operator MOBILY-KSA.

I suggest if you need imessage service then only available option is to change the network from Mobily to Zain or STC. Or we should wait until mobily fix this issue or officially announce the imessage blockage news.

In case, if you successfully activate imessage with Mobily then please share your ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Mudassar

Hi Mudassar,

If nothing works ,i think its better to reset and erase all data and start from the beginning. My itunes is installed by selecting the country as india, this time i will install itunes and choose KSA as the region.

Y'day i had chat with apple community support, nothing useful.

Mean time i turned off iMessage, then swithched off the phone, removed the sim card and reinserted again.then switched on the phone.I saw this in a forum, till now nothing has been detucted from my account.I will wait till evening.

thanks.

Hi Ramachi,

I visited Mobily outlet in Royal Commission Yanbu but they informed me that "May be Mobily has stopped this service (iMessage / Face time) in saudi arabia". Thats why it is stuck on activation.

But for sms, they told me that you are sending these sms to Uk based mobile number and we cant help you to stop it.

its almost 4th day when I restore my iphone to ios 7.0.5 and i have loose 50 riyals (0.25 / per sms) but imessage is still "Waiting for activation".

I selected UK, Yamen, Bahrain, USA, Pakistan but everytime same happened. Money is still deducting from my account although I complete turned off iMessage and face time buttons.

I just contacted with Apple support team and told them the whole situation but they advised me to contact with Mobily.

I am still in trouble.

Please update me if you find any solution.

Thanks in advance.

Contact your carrier. Mobily is a supported iPhone carrier, & you shouldn't be charged for activating iMessage.

Since you've stated that iMessage is turned off, there shouldn't be any activation anyway. So, try resetting your phone...make sure iMessage is turned off first:

Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.
