Security Questions issue - I got the correct answers but Apple kept saying I was wrong

Hi,

I am trying to use my iPhone 5S to buy some stickers for a chat program. When asked for my security questions' answers I input both correctly (I marked all of them down). But Apple kept saying my answers were wrong.

After a few trys a warning said if I ***'t to give wrong answer and my account will be blocked. Now I dare not buy anything!!! Can the correspondent team looks into the issue? Something wrong in the system?

I tried going to Manage My Account on a Mac but there is no way to change my security questions' answer. And even if I did so, the Phone may still say my answers are wrong (but they are not!).

Any suggestions/help will be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Mari

I'm late to the game, but I sympathize. The exact same thing has happened to us time and again. We have taken screen shots of our answers typed exactly 100% accurately and Apple displays the message that they are incorrect. We have been successful one time, and have given up other times. I'm currently locked out owing to the issue. It isn't a typo; it isn't forgetting to capitalize; it isn't that we've added or lack in spaces; our responses are 100% accurate and exact. We feel there is likely a flaw when using our 4S phones (this many years later..can you imagine?!! 🙂) and then hitting the "enter" key on the keyboard instead of clicking on the buttons in the window. Regardless, locked out now for the umpteenth time, and can't change them unless we answer them correctly - there's the problem with this whole system. We ARE answering them correctly.

Your answers have to be 100% accurate. For example, if the answer is 'Mister John Smith', then only that exact answer (except for case-sensitivity) will work. So, 'mister john smith' will work, but not 'Mr. John Smith' or 'Mr. Smith' or 'Mister Smith'.

I actually use a string of numbers as my security question answers, not a 'truthful' answer.

How to reset your Apple ID security questions.

Go to appleid.apple.com, click on the blue button that says 'Manage Your Apple ID'.

Log in with your Apple ID and password. (If you have forgotten your Apple ID password, go to iforgot.apple.com first to reset your password with a password recovery email)

Go to the Password & Security section on the left side, and click on the link underneath the security questions that says 'Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to [email]'. This will generate an automated e-mail that will allow you to reset your security questions.

If that doesn't work, or there is no rescue email link available, then click on 'Temporary Support PIN' that is in the bottom left side, and generate a 4-digit PIN for the Apple Account Security Advisor you will be contacting later.

Next, go to https://getsupport.apple.com

(If you see a message that says 'There are no products registered to this Apple ID, simply click on 'See all products and services')

Choose 'More Products & Services', then 'Apple ID'.

A new page will open.

Choose 'Other Apple ID Topics', then 'Forgotten Apple ID Security Questions'.

Click the blue 'Continue' button.

Select the contact option that suits your needs best.

Apple isn't here. This is a user to user forum. Solutions have been offered (a long time ago). If answers to security questions are coming up wrong it's most likely because they are - people forget exactly what they typed at the time they set the answers up. But aside from that the issue can only be resolved by talking to Apple security.
