Q: iTunes won't accept my credit card.  I've verified card info & billing address.  Says I need to use an US card.  This is a Capitol One card!!!  Any ideas?

iTunes won't accept my credit card info.  I've typed it in correctly, verified billing address is the same.  But all I get is a message in RED writing saying:

"Your credit card information does not match your bank's records.  Please enter a U.S. credit card and matching billing address"

This is super frustrating, I'm trying to use a CAPITOL ONE credit card!!  How much more American can this card possibly be??!!

Please help.

Thank you.

PS I was trying to get a free copy of the new U2 album as advertised on the Super Bowl.

Assuming this is a true credit card, not a debit card or "prepaid" card,  and it has a US billing address, go here:

    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

    Regards.

Interesting that you say Debt cards and prepaid cards don't work.  The card I've had on my account for YEARS has been a prepaid debt card.  I'm now trying to get a legit, US based Capitol One CREDIT card on the account and iTunes won't accept it.

I've already contacted iTunes support.  They said I'll get an answer with in 48 hours.  Most likely, after the new U2 album is no longer free.  And that's another thing too, the download I'm trying to get is FREE!!

Debit cards already in an account seem to keep working, but many people have reported that when entering or updating a card that debit cards are now rejected, and they're not listed in the accepted payment methods.

As to your issue, only the iTunes Store can help you with this. I understand the irritation, but please note that the U2 free offer is just a single song, not an entire album, so we're only talking about $.99 if you miss out but still want the track. Not a big deal, in my humble opinion.

    Regards.
