Hi, I was told that the gift card money I had on iTunes would also work on the app store. I bought Final Cut Pro X but it did not use the existing funds I have on my account from those gift cards. Is there any way to still use that money or those cards for that purchase? The money has not been used and the cards have not been thrown away.

You need to redeem the cards so the credit is on your account before you buy anything that you wish to pay for with the cards.
I actually did redeem them, but on my itunes account. When I bought FCPX, the money remained in my itunes account.
As long as you are using the same Apple ID for iTunes and the Mac App Store, any credits that were on the account should have been used prior to resorting to a bank card on your account.
Ah....it looks like it worked! The money showed up on my itunes account, but it appears to be gone now. Must've simply been a delayed effect. Thank you anyway!
