Q: Signing in

My 2nd generation iPod randomly told me the other day that i needed to connect to iTunes and then iTunes told me to reset my iPod before it would let me do anything else so i did but now my music isn't downloaded anymore. I tried to sign in to iTunes to figure it out on my computer and when i try to sign in it just says We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occurred (-50).

What should I do to get my music back and how do i sign in with this error showing?
