Damaged iPhone 5S (UK)

Does anyone know how much it is to replace an iPhone 5S at the Apple Store? Today I dropped my *9 day old* iPhone and it is in a pretty poor condition, which I don't want to put up with for 2 years (the screen is fine!). I don't have AppleCare, but I do have the phone insured. I believe that my insurance will pay out for a new handset (minus my excess of £50) but I have no idea how much the cost would be? I'm heading to the Apple Store tomorrow to see what they can advise. Who knows, I might even see a Genius with a very kind heart!

Exchange iPhone 5S is £209 over the counter at apple store ,best to make an appointment

Don't let anyone offer or attempt to repair ( as in InsuranceCo ) There are no genuine spare parts and it will void the warranty and any future support from Apple on that device

Thanks, that's a great help. I wasn't sure if you could do a replacement with the 5S, so hopefully that'll just cost me £50 and insurer will pay the rest. I'm so unlucky - my phone cover will probably arrive in the post today!

Talk to your insurance company before you go to the Apple Store and pay for the replacement. Many insurance plans have their own procedures for getting a damaged item repaired or replaced, so find out first or you may find yourself out of pocket for the entire replacement cost.
