Upgrade to Mtn. Lion from USB Drive

I created a bootable Mtn. Lion flash drive and would like to use it to install the OS on another iMac running Snow Leopard. When I boot from the flash drive the utilities window displays allowing me to choose "reinstall OSX Mountain Lion." May be a dumb question, but if Mtn. Lion was not installed on the machine, will choosing "reinstall" work or do I need to download from the App Store and install from the original installer?

The Mountain Lion installer is on the flash drive. It is not downloaded.

Boot Using OPTION key:

1. Restart the computer.

2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the

"OPTION" key.

3. Release the key when the boot manager appears.

4. Select the flash drive's orange disk icon.

5. Click on the arrow button below the icon.

Just follow instructions. If you wish to do a clean install then you must use Disk Utility from the Utility menu to first erase the drive.
