I don't have the Iphone button in the top right corner when I plug in my phone. How do I sync?

I don't have the Iphone button in the top right corner when I plug in my phone. How do I sync? I also don't have the device sync button but it is deffientally in and charging. This happened right after I downloaded the new version of itunes. Can someone help?

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4
