Set Up Logitech Harmony Remote 650 to Control Apple TV?

I bought a new Apple TV unit in last October (2013). I successfully paired it with my Logitech Harmony 650 universal remote control. However, I'm only able

to turn it on and off, but I have to use the little (clumsy) Apple TV remote to control all other functions like channels, volume, etc.

Has anyone out there been able to set up a Logitech Harmony universal remote to successfully control ALL Apple TV functions? My software is up to date and

I'd like to store the Apple remote in a drawer.

Somewhere in the setup it told to make sure the ATV is updated and also it said if it's not working "hold harmony 3" from apple tv and press unpair" i did and now it works. Go to your devices on your hamony choose apple tv and then unpair. Hope this helps

The Harmony software refers to it as "Activities".

Is there actually an activity setup for the ATV?

This last step is unintuitive but it works. Hitting the "unpair" button causes an icon to appear on the TV screen. Looks like a remote with two ovals floating near it. After this, the logitech remote works fine.

Simply add the ATV to the list of devices in the Harmony configuration software and add the "modes".

All functions of the ATV works fine with my Harmony remote.

The ATV was already on the list of devices. I went back into the Harmony configuration app but I couldn't find "modes" when I reviewed and tried to change the settings. Where would it be?
