File Associations?

Hi; How do I access a list of file types and the programs that are used to open them? Also How do I choose what icon a file type has?

It's just that I installed a torrent client 'Azureus'; and although I've set it to open .torrent files, and they show up with Azureus' icon, it won't open them...

Select a document file then press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the section Open With you can select the default application from the dropdown menu. If you want the application used for all such documents, then click on the Change All button.

For more extensive control over default associations get the freeware utility RCDefaultApp from www.versiontracker.com or www.macupdate.com.

Wouldn't know why it should not work with Azureus, but I don't use the program so I'm not familiar with its requirements. Perhaps not all .torrent files are the same.

Why reward points?(Quoted from Discussions Terms of Use.)
The reward system helps to increase community participation. When a community member gives you (or another member) a reward for providing helpful advice or a solution to their question, your accumulated points will increase your status level within the community.
Members may reward you with 5 points if they deem that your reply is helpful and 10 points if you post a solution to their issue. Likewise, when you mark a reply as Helpful or Solved in your own created topic, you will be awarding the respondent with the same point values.
