My hard drive is nearly full?

I am running OSX 10.9.1. My hard drive is a 2TB SATA disc. it now only has 64.7 GB free. Audio is 11.07GB, Movies 241.4GB, Photos190.19GB, Apps 8.56 GB Backups 0 GB ( TM /super duper done via external drives). Other accounts for 1.48TB.

This seems to have filled up rather rapidly. My library folder alone accounts for 1.27TB.

I have run a system clean with CleanMyMac2, thi shas freed up some space to the current situation as described.

The libary folder seems very large??

Also what does other represent and how to cull the rubbis?????

You might want to get rid of the Clean My Mac as well. It often crops up on here as causing problems for some users. It sometimes is so good at cleaning it even chucks away essential system files rendering an otherwise healthy Mac inoperable.

This link to a post by regular contributor here John Gault (post 5 in the link) offers some good guidance with regard to steering clear of third-party apps that claim to 'maintain' your Mac:
