'Apple Mobile Device Failed to Start'

Hi guys, I recently tried to install iTunes after the recent update. I have an iPhone 5 and it was working fine untill this update. I try to install iTunes and every time it gets to Starting Services I get an error saying Service 'Apple Mobile Device (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system sevices. I don't know what to do, can anyone help because I have been having this problem for a few weeks now and it is getting beyond annoying. Thanks for any help.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4

Thank you so much, this helped me a lot. I did everything in order but I did have a bit of trouble uninstalling one of the programmes. It would get to uninstall but it would then reverse excatly what I had asked it to do. I restarted my computer, deleted all the said files and tried again and it worked fine. Installed iTunes again and it has worked fine now. Thank you again for helping me !
