Pitch bend question in Logic 9

Hello,

I am a newbie to Logic and have searched for an answer and can't find one. I am trying to automate a pitch bend and it is not working. Here is my setup:

Running Kontakt 5 from a software instrument track. Using the factory library in Kontact and selected the string ensemble. What I am trying to do is set a pitch automation in Logic to bend the pitch of a single note from -64 to 63. When I set the pitch automation in Logic, it doesn't affect Kontact at all. The note plays without any pitch bend.

Wondering what I have to do to get the bend to work?

Running 10.7.5 on a MacBook Pro with no Midi Controller. Please let me know any other info you might need. Thanks in advance!
