Home button not responding

Just unplugged my 5S from the charger, it has 94% of battery...once locked the home button doesn't responded. It's almost like it's taking awhile to wake up. Instead of it instantly lighting up and registering my finger print it's taking at least 12+ sec to wake up. I have to enter my pass code and that sits and thinks for almost 20sec before it opens! I have turned it off twice, although in my impatience for my phone to work I have turned it right back on...is anyone else having this issue? Any ideas as to how to remedy this issue?
