MacBook A1181 (13-INCH MID 2007)

Hello,

I received as a payment, a notebook MacBook A1181. I never had any Mac device, just phones or tablets. I am quite excited to start it up and play on it. For the moment I wait for the guy who gave it to me, to find it's charger.(He doesnt know much about the notebook, because he has a new MacBook Air) Meanwhile I was thinking about the next few things:

- What MacOS do you think it will have installed?

- What's the best MacOS i can install on it?

- It will be good for a office using?( I will also give it as a gift to a girl that will use it just for browsing, checking emails, movies, etc)

- How bad/good does the screen look? Is it the crystal-clear look that I am used to, or it is pixeled?

I write here what I found, while looking after it's serial number: ( I looked around and I saw it has 3GB - yeah unusual upgrade)

You can very easily use Snow Leopard (OS 10.6) on this computer. It will even handle Lion (10.7), but that's the limit. If OS 10.6 is not installed on it, you can buy it from Apple for $20. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

This laptop will be fine for the tasks you describe. But I am not sure about movies. Some will play well, others may not.

- How bad/good does the screen look? Is it the crystal-clear look that I am used to, or it is pixeled?

The displays, out of the shop, were excellent. But the screen quality of a used laptop cannot be predicted.
