Q: When exporting a photo, I don't get the correct dialog box

What is your Aperture version number?

Could you post a screenshot of the Export panel you are seeing?

When problems develop with the User Interface a good palce to start is with the Aperture preferences file.

Further to Frank's recommendation of deleting your user prefs, I would first just shut everything down and reboot.

Scrapes off at least the top layer of cruft, and sometimes overlooked by Mac users.

You can open the old library by either locating it with the Finder and double clicking it or else with Aperture open on a new empty library select File->Switch to Library->Other/New.

Aperture will scan all the disks looking for libraries and list them in the window. Select the one you want. Note if you have a lot of disks this might take  a few minutes.

By default it will be in your Pictures folder. Look for the "Fan of Pictures" icon on a package with the filename extension .aplibrary.

Type .aplibrary into the Spotlight searchfield.

You'l get that the first time after you delete the prefernce file regardless of the library you open.

Right, let Aperture come up. If the library that opens is not the one you want then do Switch to Library

The Other/New should show you a panel like this with all libraries listed:

If you do not see your library there, click "Other Library"  and use the search field.
