I am running Windows 7 on a Macbook Pro. Is there some way to make the <Delete> key act like a <Backspace> key? There are times when I have a lot of files selected and I just hit Delete and, well, it is a Delete key, not Backspace and nothing happens. I would like to be able to treat it like a backspace, is there a way?
If you hold the Fn key down when hitting the Delete key, it will act as you want (forward delete not backspace).
Are there other keys that are accessible via the Fn key? I would LOVE to have the Home, End, Insert, Page Down, and Page up!
I believe that Fn down arrow is "bottom" and Fn up arrow is "Top", but I don't recall all of them. There was a page on the Apple site that had the information back in 2007 when I first switched from PC to Mac, and I have been using my Mac so much that the keys I use the most are the ones I have memorized.
For backspace on the macbook pro using the terminal program:
Go into terminal
from the terminal screen select preferences
in preferences select advanced
under input there is a box which states "Delete sends Control-H"
place the checkmark in this box
So now the delete key will move the cursor one character to the left and delete the character.
