LOST pls help! icloud password and apple id different.

i set up my icloud account last year and my password is different than it is for apple id. i have 2400 songs in icloud and am paying for it, but can't access it! did you figure out a way to access yours in a way that might help me? or ever hear of a way to retrieve icloud password from apple? Or change to a new password? i remember it saying when I set it up not to forget my password because i wouldn't be able to retreieve it, but surely, in the technological age, that can't be literally impossible can it? i've been active in paying my account, but have never been able to access it! ARGH! pls send some ideas!
