Help with my Safari Browser

I was having problems with my Apple Works app. I downloaded something off a website suggested by someone here and now not only did it NOT help me with Apple Works, but now anytime I try clicking any of my bookmarks or menu on my Safari browser, it keeps quitting. Since I am on OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) I tried looking for the download for Safari to try to reinstall it, but all I can seem to find is Safari for Lion or Mavericks. Would someone here please be so kind as to tell me how to fix it? I'm at my wits end! I would be very much obliged.
