I don't know what Operating system I have for th i-pod as I can't seem to find that information on the i-pod itself. It is 160GB.

Have you sync'd this iPod with your iTunes library on that computer before? If so, then all you need to do is to:
Hook up your iPod to the computer, and when it shows up under Devices, select it
Then, to the right, under the Music Tab, uncheck the "Sync Music" option box at the top of thae Music Profile page
The Sync. That will remove all of the music from the iPod, and leave your library in tact.
If you have never sync'd with that iTunes library, then there would be other sync issues you would want to take into consideration. So, let us know which scenario you are talking about and we can go from there.

This i-pod is synced, but I'm not seeing what you are talking about. I seen a box that I could check if I want the ipod synced and it is not checked. I have synced before, but not on this laptop. Does that make a difference? I just want to start all over with my ipod. I want to change music that is on it, I want to change playlists, I just want to start all over from scratch.
I also need to be refreshed on how to make new playlists.
So, I know that if I restore the ipod on itunes, it will bring it to the original factory settings. I just want to make sure that I am not going to wipe out my itunes music library on my laptop if I click on restore.
I want to remove all music from my i-pod only and not from my i-tunes list on my computer. How do I go about doing this?
