Q: Upon formatting my hard drive and then attempting to reinstall my Lion OS (through Command-R restart), I am prompted for Apple ID!
This is a great article, and has helped me prepare my mac for selling. Only issue, is that upon formatting the hard drive and then attempting to reinstall my Lion OS (by using the Command-R restart, NOT through disk), I am prompted for my Apple ID before I go any further, defeating the purpose wiping the computer clean. Won't this step ultimately leave a trace of who's operating system this is, and the Apple ID of that person? God forbid it stores the password during this step. Does anyone know what exactly is stored by the computer before going through the rest of the setup steps? I hope this makes sense for those who have reinstalled the Lion OS this way. Thanks for any help.
