mac pro 2006 with os x lion run fcpx 10.0.9?

I work at an ad agency who has a 2006 Mac Pro running os x 10.6.8. I want to use final cut pro x as oppsed to 7, which is what we are currently using. I want to know if I were to upgrade to os x lion, would I then be able to run Final Cut Pro X ver. 10.0.9? I have not been able to find a forum or blog that answers this question. Does anyone know if this would be possible?

I am running a Mac Pro 2,1 which is basically the same as your 1,1 and with the Apple 5770 graphics card it runs FCPX 10.0.9 just fine on Lion 10.7.5. Like Hatter said you will need the GPU upgraded if you havent already and official Apple versions are getting really hard to find. Of course you are doing this with knowledge that you are dead-ended at 10.0.9 as FCPX 10.1 requires Mavericks. However, as a transition to FCPX this would be a good start before you spend the big bucks for a Mac Pro 6,1.

I had a boot drive go down and I now cannot find 10.0.9 to download it to my new hard disk. When I go to the App store it say I have to have OS 10.9. I'm running Lion 10.7.5. I have a 2006 1,1. Very frustrated. Apple said I need to find someone with a computer runn Mountain Lion and sign in to my purchases and download 10.0.9 to a thumb drive. That's their answer fo a purchased $299.99 program I bought in Dec of 2011!.
